“Escape from Tarkov” will continue its long – term operation after the official version is launched, with DLCs, new maps

The 1.0 official version of “Escape from Tarkov” will be released in November, and the most concerned question for players is what will happen next. Once the game is officially launched on Steam, will Battlestate Games abandon “Escape from Tarkov”? Or will it continue to adopt the live service operation model as it has for many years?

During the Tokyo Game Show, Nikita Buyanov, the head of Battlestate Games studio, hosted a QA session, and the topic talked about the future of “Escape from Tarkov” after the 1.0 version.

DLCs will be released within five years for “Escape from Tarkov”

As the most representative figure of Battlestate Games, Nikita had a face-to-face communication with players in the “Escape from Tarkov” exhibition area of the Tokyo Game Show. He outlined the future plans for the game after it ends more than eight years of testing and officially enters the 1.0 version.

In this regard, Nikita explained that DLCs, multiple new maps, and more exciting events will be launched one after another after the game is released. Even zombies will soon return to “Escape from Tarkov”, probably around Halloween.

The season wipe mechanism will still be retained, but they will become “more unique and memorable”. In addition, a brand-new storyline will also be added to the game, including four different endings.
