The sixth season of the TV anime adaptation of Yasuhisa Hara’s manga Kingdom has recently concluded, with the official announcement confirming the production of a sequel.

Season 6 premiered on October 4 on NHK General TV in Japan. This season focused on the war between Qin and Zhao, with protagonist Li Xin inheriting Ou Ki’s will and charging into battle wielding his spear.
The series’ first TV anime season debuted in 2012, followed by the second season in 2013. The third season was originally scheduled to premiere in April 2020 but was suspended after four episodes due to the pandemic, later restarting from episode one in April 2021, with Funimation handling international distribution. The fourth season premiered in April 2022 on NHK General TV, with Crunchyroll providing global simulcast. The fifth season aired in January 2024, comprising 13 episodes, also distributed worldwide by Crunchyroll.

Yasuhisa Hara’s historical manga centers on Li Xin, a slave-born protagonist who aspires to become the greatest general of Qin. Xin supports the young King Ying Zheng of Qin, who dreams of unifying China, helping him consolidate power while striving to become a commander capable of defeating the Seven Warring States.
Serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump since 2006, this record-breaking manga has already inspired four live-action films, with a fifth film slated for summer 2026 release.
