GameReadHub reported on November 11th that Sony disclosed in its latest financial report that the PS5 exclusive “Soul of the Sheep’s Hoof Mountain” sold over 3.3 million units in its first month of release, which is roughly equivalent to its predecessor “Soul of Tsushima Island”.
According to data previously released by PlayStation, “Soul of Tsushima” sold 2.4 million copies within three days of release and accumulated sales of 5 million copies within four months of release.
However, when “Soul of Tsushima” was released, it was in the late stage of the PS4 lifecycle, and the number of installed consoles at that time was significantly higher than the current PS5.
Sony disclosed in its financial report today that as of September 30, 2025, the global sales of PS5 have reached 84.2 million units, almost the same as the 86 million units of PS4 in the same period.
Earlier today, Sony Group released its consolidated financial results for the second quarter ended September 30, 2025.
The revenue for the second fiscal quarter was 3.11 trillion yen (IT Home note: the current exchange rate is approximately 143.76 billion yuan), a year-on-year increase of 5%;
The operating profit was 429 billion yen (equivalent to approximately 19.831 billion yuan in current exchange rate), a year-on-year increase of 10%;
The net profit reached 311.4 billion yen (with a current exchange rate of approximately 14.394 billion yuan), a year-on-year increase of 7%.
