Recently, the well-known whistleblower @ AgaiinTx discovered screenshots of scenes suspected to be from Far Cry 7 in the game files of the discontinued game “League of Legends” by Ubisoft.
The snow capped mountains and coniferous forests depicted in the picture further confirm the rumors that the game will be set in Alaska.
According to leaked information, Far Cry 7 will adopt a dual development strategy: in addition to continuing the series’ traditional single player storyline mode, it will also release an independent “loot shooting” derivative work, with core gameplay focusing on survival resource collection and multiplayer combat.
The game will be developed based on the Snowdrop engine, which is also the engine used in Star Wars: The Fallen, and is expected to be officially released within the next two years.
If the rumors are true, this will be the largest overhaul of the Far Cry series since its inception.
Players will bid farewell to tropical islands and engage in a life and death survival battle in the extremely cold wilderness of Alaska.
From overthrowing dictators to confronting harsh natural environments, this transformation indicates that Ubisoft is attempting to inject new vitality into this decade old IP.
At present, all information has not been officially confirmed by Ubisoft. Considering that the leaked content is rapidly spreading, Ubisoft may accelerate the pace of official announcement as a result.
Players also need to maintain rational expectations, and the official final news shall prevail.
