The strategy card game FrostBound, developed by Lyra Studio, has officially been confirmed to be released on the Steam platform on November 27, 2025.
Two weeks before the game’s release, a 10% discount will be offered, with a discounted price of 46.8 yuan.
Lyra Studio was formed by a group of gaming enthusiasts who have known each other for over a decade. The team members have gone their separate ways and experienced life lows, but ultimately reunited due to their shared love for games, adhering to the concept of “good brothers playing games happily together” for creation.
The core inspiration for the creation of ‘Winter Frontline’ comes from ‘Game of Thrones’, especially the grand scenes of humans fighting against ghosts in the drama.
The game places players in the role of “Night Watch Commander”, who needs to simultaneously resist the tide of undead armies and deal with internal conflicts within the human camp, echoing the core proposition of “humanity and survival” in Game of Thrones.
The core gameplay revolves around five major card categories:
Attack Card: Precise attack on selected targets with special effects attached
Defense card: Summon troops to provide physical combat power support
• Skill card: Change the battle situation through special effects
Building Card: Provides continuous site support and long-term benefits
• Elite Card: Unique “raising big brother” gameplay, can grow into battlefield leaders
The game has 9 progressively increasing difficulty levels. In high difficulty mode, the “Build Defense Building” event will be triggered, and a “Beacon” elite recruitment center will appear where epic cards can be purchased.
Players can use the card pool management system to precisely control card acquisition by locking points.
Winter Frontline has been shortlisted for the “Best Design Award” at the 2025 IndiePlay China Independent Game Competition and the “Golden Dolphin Award” at the Xiamen International Anime Festival.
