In today’s Sony State of Play Japan special, FromSoftware officially announced the first large-scale expansion content of “Eldenfield Ring: Dark Lord Ring”, “Abandoned Abyss”, which will be globally synchronized and launched on December 4, 2025.
This DLC will add two new professional characters, “Scholar” and “Funeral Sister”, and add two brand new bosses. This is an important expansion of the content of ‘Dark Lord’s Landing’ released earlier this year.
As an extension of the legitimate sequel nature of ‘Elden Ring’, ‘Dark Lord’s Landing’ has a strong commercial performance: the peak concurrent online users on Steam reached 313000, becoming the second highest record in FromSoftware’s history;
On the first day, sales exceeded 2 million sets, and as of the end of July, global cumulative sales have exceeded 5 million sets.
The release of this DLC is seen as a positive response from the development team to player feedback, aimed at reshaping players’ expectations for the ‘Dark Universe’ through more focused and exploratory content.
